Our volunteer counsellors are qualified and experienced professionals who are able to provide culturally safe counselling and mediation to the Sikh community. Counselling creates a safe and supportive environment for individuals and families to work through issues, gain clarity and be empowered with the tools to work toward positive change.

Before, during and after counselling, we assess your situation and refer you to appropriate additional services that might be more beneficial to you. Counselling is by appointment only, you may fill out our ‘contact us’ form to schedule a call back

Common issues that people seek counselling from SASFV include (but are not limited to):

These issues can cause many ripple effects on an individual’s daily life, relationships, work, study and overall well being. Family violence in particular can contribute to physical injuries and ongoing health concerns or disability, mental health problems, trauma and developmental delays in children who witness or experience violence, financial strain and strain on employment, homelessness and social isolation for victim survivors, and it can potentially create an intergenerational cycle of violence within families.

SASFV aims to provide counselling and mediation to members of the Sikh community to mitigate the risks associated with these issues, making for healthier, happier families and communities.

Provide culturally safe counselling for victims of family violence and other vulnerable members of the Sikh community
